I totally agree with you - HANA looks very promising - but not for 90% of our customers. So we need a good and reliable DB we can count on. We already use ASE for a few SAP installations and I'd like to migrate more customers to ASE. But I'm a little concerned about the future of ASE - will it be sometimes dropped like MaxDB? Can I motivate our customers to migrate to ASE without regretting it in 5-6 years and loose their faith?
One more thing: Are there any good marketing and technical papers WHY a customer should choose ASE over oracle, DB2 or MS SQL? Every other DB vendor has such white papers why and how to migrate from ASE to their DB platform....
