Hi Karthik,
the pop ups will show up for HTTP form based auth and SAP-GUI logins starting with 7.31. I will try to get some info on the pathc level but it should be no later than SP8 most likly even earlier.
The rest was already answered by Julius and there is nothing I could add there.
